Pedals and cutting brakes

02/10/2001

First things first, we needed to find somewhere for the cutting brakes other than where they were originally. They were out of reach to begin with, but we knew that with 4 point harnesses on, there would be no way to reach them. Jacob, Justin and I went to work fabricating two plates - one for each side of the cutting brake housing. Once that was done, the lines could be bent. All of the brake lines are quarter inch stainless steel, and the fittings we used are high quality stainless steel compression fittings. You can get all of these materials from McMaster-Carr.

And the pedals...

It's coming along. Still a ways to go, but at least we'll have somewhere to sit and pretend like we're driving now. Check it out!

More to come in this area!

07/21/2001 - Got the throttle in and the master cylinders bled, but the brake M/C seems to not be building pressure! The cutting brakes work pretty good, but the brake pedal goes all the way to the stop and nothing happens. Doh!
