Stucks and "OOPS" - page 1

Here Jenn and Marc are, on the first trip with the Jeep in Hollister. Marc decided that this little mud puddle looked harmless enough, but turned out to have a quicksand bottom. He was able to let the clutch out and the tires would spin freely. Don ended up winching them out with no problem.

This guy was stuck in the mud pit when we arrived at Hollister one time. He had little 31" tires, and was waiting for the ranger to come and rescue him. Don winched him out too.

Here is the mud pit on a different trip. Steven, being of the type that is attracted to any large body of gooey substance, decided to run it even though we had no idea how deep it was. (OK, we egged him on a bit.) We hooked up a towstrap to the front, thinking he would make it most of the way, but he didn't. Did over $1200 damage to the transmission. OOPS!

We found this guy in the quarry area at Hollister on day. I don't remember how he got out, but I do seem to remember a one ton Chevy getting a 20 foot running start with a tow strap attached. It was a truly brutal extraction.
